Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data the Kitchen Memoir app, this website and our support mailbox handle, and what your rights are. The short version: the app collects nothing about you.

2. What this policy covers
The Kitchen Memoir app for iPhone and Android, the website kitchen-memoir.lgytech.com, and the email you exchange with us. It does not cover the App Store, Google Play, your phone’s operating system, or any app you share a recipe with — each has its own privacy policy.
3. The app: what stays on your phone
The app keeps, in its own private storage on your phone:
- the recipes you write — title, description, ingredients, steps, notes, servings, time and origin;
- the cooks you add — a name or nickname, a relationship, a place of origin and, if you add one, a photo;
- the photos you take or choose, and the voice stories you record;
- your cookbook’s title, subtitle and dedication;
- your settings — the language, the weekly reminder, and a single flag recording that the unlock was bought.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. The app has no server and does not connect to the internet. We have no way to read, copy or recover it. When you delete a recipe, a cook or a story, its files are deleted from the phone; when you delete the app, everything goes with it.
Your phone’s own backup (iCloud Backup, a computer backup, or your Android backup) may include the app’s data if you have it turned on. Those backups are made by Apple or Google under their terms, not by us. Please keep a backup: it is the only copy of your recipes and recordings.
4. What the app never collects
No account or sign-in. No name, email address or phone number. No location, contacts or calendar. No analytics, usage statistics or crash reports. No advertising identifier and no advertising. No third-party software development kits that report anything to anyone. If the app crashes, we do not learn about it unless you tell us.
5. Permissions, and when the app asks for them
- Microphone — only when you tap record on a story. The recording is saved to the phone.
- Camera and photos — when you add a photo of a dish or a cook. On iPhone the system asks for camera and photo-library access; on Android the app uses the system camera and photo picker, which need no permission. Only the photo you choose is copied into the app.
- Notifications — only if you turn on the weekly question in Settings. The reminder is a local notification produced on your phone; no server is involved. It is off until you switch it on.
You can withdraw any of these at any time in your phone’s settings; the related feature then simply does not work.
6. Purchases
The unlock is sold by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). They process your payment and your identity under their own privacy policies; we never receive your name, address, email or payment details. Apple and Google give us aggregated, anonymous statistics (downloads, sales by country), anonymous crash reports if you have allowed your phone to share diagnostics with developers, and, on Google Play, an order number we may need to process a refund. The app itself stores only a yes/no flag that the unlock was bought.
7. This website
kitchen-memoir.lgytech.com sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, embeds no third-party content and loads its fonts from our own server.
Like every web server, ours records technical access logs — the IP address of the request, the date and time, the page requested, the browser type and the referring page. We use them only to keep the site secure and working, on the basis of our legitimate interest in doing so, and delete them after 30 days at the latest.
When you open the site without a language in the address, the server reads your browser’s language preference to show you the right language. This is done from the request itself; nothing is stored.
8. When you contact us
When you email support@lgytech.com or privacy@lgytech.com, we receive your email address, whatever name your email app sends, and what you wrote. We use it only to answer you and to improve the app, on the basis of the contract with you or our legitimate interest in supporting it. We keep the conversation for up to twelve months after the last message, then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer (for example, correspondence about a refund may have to be kept for accounting purposes). Our business email is provided by a hosting provider that processes it on our behalf.
9. Where data is processed
We are based in Türkiye and read our email there. If you write to us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, your message is therefore transferred to Türkiye. The transfer is necessary to answer the request you made to us; we do not transfer it anywhere else.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live — the GDPR in the EEA, the UK GDPR, Türkiye’s Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), Brazil’s LGPD and similar laws — you have the right to know whether we hold personal data about you, to access it, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a copy in a portable form, and to withdraw consent you have given.
For the data in the app you exercise these rights yourself, on your phone, because we hold none of it. For support emails, write to privacy@lgytech.com; we answer within one month (thirty days under the KVKK) and may ask you to confirm your identity.
You may also complain to a supervisory authority: in Türkiye the Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu), in the EEA the data-protection authority of your country, in the United Kingdom the Information Commissioner’s Office.
11. Children
The app is made for families, and a child may use it with a parent’s help; because it stores nothing outside the phone, it collects no data from children — or from anyone. The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly process personal data of children in any way.
12. Security
Your recipes are protected by your phone’s own security: its passcode, its encryption and its backups. Please use a passcode and keep a backup. This website is served over HTTPS only.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the new version appears here with a new date. We will describe material changes in the app’s release notes. We will never start collecting data from the app without first updating this policy and the privacy declarations in the App Store and Google Play.
14. Contact
privacy@lgytech.com for personal-data matters, support@lgytech.com for everything else, or by post at the address above.
