1. Who we are

Kitchen Memoir (the “app”) and this website are published by LGY Yazilim Danismanlik ve Bilgi Teknolojileri Sanayi Ticaret Limited Sirketi (“LGYtech”, “we”, “us”), a limited company registered in Türkiye.

2. Agreeing to these terms

By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; if from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. Where those store terms and these terms conflict on a matter concerning your download or your purchase through the store, the store’s terms prevail for that matter.

You must be old enough to enter into a contract in your country, or use the app with the agreement of a parent or guardian.

3. What the app is

Kitchen Memoir lets you keep family recipes — a photo, the ingredients, the steps — together with a recorded voice story, and export them as a cookbook PDF or a recipe card. Everything you create is stored on your phone only. There is no account, no server and no cloud copy. We have no access to your recipes, photos or recordings, and we cannot recover them for you.

4. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, subject to these terms and the store’s terms. You may not copy, modify, sell, rent, distribute or reverse-engineer the app except where the law expressly allows it, and you may not remove any notice of ownership.

5. The free plan and the one-time unlock

The app is free to download. The free plan includes five recipes, a voice story with each of them, and ten of the sixty conversation prompts.

One in-app purchase, “Unlock forever”, unlocks unlimited recipes and cooks, the cookbook PDF export, shareable recipe cards and all sixty prompts. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription: there is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel.

The price is shown in the App Store or Google Play in your currency before you confirm. The purchase is made with, and billed by, Apple or Google under their terms, including any taxes. Prices may change; a change never affects an unlock you have already bought.

The unlock belongs to the App Store or Google Play account that bought it. You can restore it on any device signed in to that account (Settings → Restore purchase). It cannot be moved between the App Store and Google Play, because the two stores keep separate records.

Refunds are handled under the store’s refund policy. If you bought through the App Store, ask Apple. If you bought through Google Play, ask Google within the period it allows; after that, write to support@lgytech.com and we will consider your request in line with Google Play’s rules. Your statutory rights are not affected.

6. Your content

Everything you put into the app — recipes, photos, recordings, the names of your family’s cooks — is yours. We claim no rights in it and, because it never leaves your phone, we never see it.

You are responsible for it. In particular:

• ask a person’s permission before you record their voice or take their photo, and respect their wishes if they decline — in many countries recording someone without consent is unlawful;
• do not store content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else’s rights;
• keep a backup. The app’s privacy screen explains that deleting the app deletes your content, and that your phone’s own backup is your only copy.

7. Sharing and exporting

When you export the cookbook PDF or share a recipe card, you choose where it goes through your phone’s share sheet. What the receiving app or service does with it is governed by that service’s terms, not ours.

8. Our intellectual property

The app, its name and icon, its design, its texts, the conversation prompts and the images and fonts it carries are owned by us or licensed to us. These terms give you no right to use the Kitchen Memoir name or branding except to describe the app.

9. Updates and changes to the app

We may release updates, and we may add, change or remove features. Because the app works entirely on your phone, no update is ever forced on you; the stores may, however, stop offering versions for operating systems they no longer support. We may stop distributing the app altogether; an installed copy, and everything in it, keeps working on your phone.

10. Warranties and liability

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be free of errors or interruptions, or that it will suit a particular purpose. In particular, we are not responsible for the loss of recipes, photos or recordings, for whatever reason, because they exist only on your phone and only you can back them up.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims arising from the app or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for the unlock, if anything.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intent or gross negligence — and nothing in them limits the rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.

11. Ending the agreement

You can end this agreement at any time by deleting the app; that deletes everything in it. We may end your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections 6, 8, 10 and 12 continue to apply after the agreement ends.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul (Çağlayan) have jurisdiction — without depriving you, if you are a consumer, of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or of the right to bring a claim before the courts or consumer bodies there. Consumers in Türkiye may also apply to the consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts. Outside Türkiye, we do not take part in voluntary alternative dispute-resolution schemes unless the law requires it.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The current version is always at kitchen-memoir.lgytech.com/terms, with the date it was last updated. If a change is material, we will say so in the app’s release notes. Using the app after a change means you accept it; if you do not, stop using the app.

14. Language

These terms are published in ten languages for convenience. If the versions differ, the English version prevails — except for consumers in Türkiye, for whom the Turkish version prevails, and wherever the law of your country requires the version in your language to apply.
